What are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are active, natural compounds found in cannabis (hemp and marijuana) plants.  Currently, over 100 different cannabinoids have been identified in cannabis plants, with the most commonly isolated compounds including CBD, CBG, CBC, CBN, and THC.  Recent studies have shown that only one cannabinoid compound THC (tetrahydrocannabinol Delta 9) is the only compound that causes psychoactive effects.  Studies have also shown that when several of these compounds are present, as in broad spectrum and full spectrum products, these compounds work together achieving greater effects.

Hemp vs. Marijuana

Why Hemp?  The answer is easy.  Over the years an abundance of research has been conducted showing numerous benefits the compounds found in the cannabis plant, especially CBD, can have on the human body.  Cannabidiol (CBD), as well as the other cannabinoid compounds, can be extracted from either a marijuana plant or a hemp plant.  Hemp plants generally contain under 0.3% THC and high levels of THC, whereas marijuana in contrast possesses low levels of CBD and THC levels of anywhere from 5% to 35%.
